Welcome to my first blog post on my official website! I’m Hildegarde Handsaeme, a Belgian artist passionate about exploring the essence of femininity through minimalist line art and contemporary paintings. Over the past 30 years, I’ve devoted myself to capturing the strength, elegance, and balance of the female form in timeless works.
Each of my creations begins with a search for perfect lines — lines that evoke emotion, harmony, and subtle power. Whether working on a large canvas or an intimate drawing, my goal is always to reveal the poetry hidden in simplicity.
I’m excited to share insights into my creative process, the inspiration behind my recent pieces, and upcoming projects. Through this blog, I hope to connect more closely with art lovers, collectors, and anyone who feels drawn to my minimalist yet expressive approach.
Thank you for visiting my site! Explore my collections and stay tuned for future posts where I’ll take you behind the scenes of my artistic world.

My work is now included in an artist profile on Wikipedia, offering a concise overview of my career, artistic vision, and international presence developed over more than three decades.
In addition, my painting “Great Desire” (2015) has been selected for inclusion in the curated art and poetry book Dag Lieve Mens – Poems with Works by Flemish Artists, edited by Pedro Brugada & Jean-Paul Van Der Poorten. This publication brings together diverse visual and literary voices in dialogue.
These acknowledgments provide new opportunities to share my work with a broader audience and to continue refining my artistic expression.

Featured in Titan Contemporary – A Significant Milestone
I’m proud to share an important milestone: My work has been selected for the Titan Contemporary hardcover catalogue – an international publication featuring a curated selection of contemporary artists.
This catalogue is more than a book:
It represents a strictly curated selection, with only artists who embody innovation, integrity, and international relevance.
It places my work alongside artists represented in major collections like MoMA and the Whitney Museum.
With ISBN registration and international distribution, it becomes a lasting document in the art world.
Being part of this selection is both an honor and a step forward in sharing my work with a broader, engaged audience of collectors and galleries.
